After waiting a few days to digest this film, I came to give you my opinion.
David Ayer presents a group of villains from DC Comics, At the front: Captain Rick Flagg. The group consists on Deadshot (Will Smith), a shooter that never fails. Beside him we find Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), a psychopath deeply in love with Joker, Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), a master of boomerang; Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje); Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), a witch; El Diablo (Jay Hernandez), a criminal with the ability to generate fire; Sliptknot (Adam Beach), a spider-man able to climb anything and Katana (Karen Fukuhara). They will be involved in a problem and will join forces to save the world.
As for the characters, we see essentially the plot revolves around Harley Quinn, Deadshot and Captain Flagg. It is true that they might be interesting characters, but definitely lacking some balance in the development of the characters. The love story of Harley Quinn and Joker, who doesn't really involve in the main plot of the film, doesn't belong here, but it is stuck with merchandising intentions clearly, as they are the most selling character, but certainly unbalances the film.
Will Smith does a great job, like Margot Robbie, despite how stupid her character is, who is far from a psycho and becomes a sexualized character with some good phrases. Cara Delevingne as Enchantress and June Moone misses desire and in general the spirit of the film, and I have to say that the character lacks credibility. Captain Boomerang is undoubtedly behind Killer Croc, the character less developed and despite trying to give him some humor by the script, stays as a filler character who does not give enough game. And finally, Diablo is a strange case, who lacks credibility, not because of Hernandez's interpretation, but because of the script, which generally is a mess.
However, the film is entertaining, it has some good phrases, and despite being criticized for the lack of order and meaning in the plot, with enough sense for a film like this, and in my opinion a relatively normal and typical plot, growing with the characters and some good interpretations.
The soundtrack is definitely a more positive point and the film also presents great action scenes with amazing special effects. Aesthetically it is a good movie, but it needs improvements in the script.
Viewers have generally enjoyed this film, but the critics have been very hard, and in my opinion outrageously bad, maybe I'm still too "viewer", but it does not deserve such a strong hatred.
